Hey, guys!  I am switching up my post for today!  I decided to forgo a post about Keep reading!

ARC Review: Ramona Blue by Julie Murphy

ramona blue
Book Summary From Amazon: “Ramona was only five years old when Hurricane Katrina changed her life forever.  Since then, it’s been Ramona and her family against the world. Standing over six feet tall with unmistakable blue hair, Ramona is sure of three things: she likes girls, she’s fiercely devoted to her family, and she knows she’s destined for something bigger than the trailer she calls home in Eulogy, Mississippi. But juggling multiple jobs, her flaky mom, and her well-meaning but ineffectual dad forces her to be the adult of the family. Now, with her sister, Hattie, pregnant, responsibility weighs more heavily than ever.  The return of her childhood friend Freddie brings a welcome distraction. Ramona’s friendship with the former competitive swimmer picks up exactly where it left off, and soon he’s talked her into joining him for laps at the pool. But as Ramona falls in love with swimming, her feelings for Freddie begin to shift too, which is the last thing she expected. With her growing affection for Freddie making her question her sexual identity, Ramona begins to wonder if perhaps she likes girls and guys or if this new attraction is just a fluke. Either way, Ramona will discover that, for her, life and love are more fluid than they seem.”

*Ramona Blue released on May 9, 2017.*

Getting To Know You Better Tag

Thank you to the lovely Kris over at Boston Book Reader for tagging me!  Go check out her blog if you haven’t!  It’s great!  Off to the tag!

The Getting To Know You Better Tag

Can you stop reading at any time, or does it have to be a certain page or chapter? I generally stop reading at the end of a chapter or at the end of a paragraph.  It makes it easier for me to find my place when I come back.

Do you eat or drink anything whilst reading?  I will drink whatever, but I don’t normally eat while I read.  If I do, it’s some small snack food like Chex Mix or crackers.  Nothing too messy.

Can you read listening to music or watching TV?  Yes, actually.  When I started college, I had to adapt to reading with even a little background noise.  I’m to the point now where I have difficulty reading in absolute silence.  Now, I tend to put on classical music in the background.

One book at a time, or several at once?  Several at once!  I currently have two books going at the same time, soon to be three!

Reading at home or everywhere? Everywhere!  I am all over the place all the time.  If I read only at home, I would never get any reading done!

Reading out loud or silently in your head?  I read silently in me head.  I read so much faster silently than I do out loud.

Do you read ahead, or skip pages?  I read the book in order.  My eyes will sometimes drift to the next page, but I try to avoid doing that to avoid spoilers.

Breaking the spine or keeping it new?  Keeping it new if I can, but if it happens, it happens.

Do you write books, or just read them? I am primarily a reader. I used to write stories.  But now, I just mainly write poetry and blog posts.

5 of my favorite books: 1. The Harry Potter series; 2. The Throne of Glass series; 3. A Court of Thorns and Roses series; 4. The Lunar Chronicles; 5. The Naturals
