How My Blog Was Started:

I started Traveling Across Pages about the beginning of June. I wanted a place where I could share my thoughts and opinions on books with like-minded people. I was using Goodreads hard-core, but it felt to impersonal. Not to mention I didn’t feel the sense of community that I do now. I am so glad I started my blog because it also means I am writing again. I hadn’t been writing for a long while; school got in the way. I hadn’t realized how much I missed writing until I started my blog. I am much happier because of it.

Advice for new bloggers:

Be active with the book blogging community. Follow other blogs, like posts, and leave comments. I give partial credit to this tip as to why my blog has been as successful as it has been in such a short period of time. When you are active in the community, you make friends, build a reputation, and spread your name.
Post consistently. If people see that you don’t post that often, they might lose interest. There are exceptions to this. But if you are just starting out, keep posting. More content means more views. More views means an increased chance that publishers will send you ARCs. I am still working towards this goal!
